Rope Walk Guest House is a heritage pre-war mansion located in the middle of Georgetown. 5~10mins walking distance to all UNESCO sites, street arts, cafes, food courts, night market, main bus terminal to/from airport as well as the Ferry terminal to/from Langkawi and Butterworth.
The building was re-renovated in May '17 to enhance the facilities such as additional common toilet and bathrooms, laundry place, common seating area and moon lit air-wells. Much effort has been made to green the property with plants.
With the extension of our dormitorio and cafe, we truly hope that the concept will add value to the services our travelers are paying for. A small selected crew will assist and make your stay with us as homely and lengthy as possible. Our doors are open to any adventurous and hip traveler seeking a pleasant stay in Georgetown, Penang.

A little greedy renting a towel for money.. Who authorized automatic charge on checking in time?? No trust?? Feel no welcoming..

Great location but there was no common area. There was a café across the street that I believe once was used but it was shut the whole time we were there.
We had the private double room and although it was cozy and fairly comfortable it was not cleaned very well, with lots of dust and hairs left from previous stays.
Not good for light sleepers at all! There was a sound of pipes filling that went on for ages and bright windows with no curtain for shutter. If it rains it's deafening!

lovely place to stay 🫡
didn’t see much of the staff tho and the lack of a kitchen is frustrating to say the least, as well as the place is in the middle of renovations is slightly annoying.
really good value for cash tho, possibly the e cheapest place in georgetown.
would stay again 😋
