Bear on the Lake Guesthouse overlooks the Bras d'Or Lakes at the start of the Cabot Trail.
We are nestled amongst 25+ acres of forest sitting high above the lake on our own mountain where Eagles flying overhead is a common sight.
Just down the road from world class hiking, beaches, kayaking, sailing and whale watching, we are the perfect location to explore Cape Breton Island.
We are also 5 min to grocery/Liquor store, fuel, pharmacy, and restaurants.

I stayed at the Bear on the lake for 2 nights, travelling solo, driving from Cape Breton to Halifax. I felt right at home. Met really nice people! The property is gorgeous and clean, the views of the lake are great ! Highly recommend !it’s a five km drive to Wycocomaugh. there is a provincial park just 1km away with camping and trails.
I enjoyed chatting with Nancy the owner, who was very welcoming and seems to love her job. Highly recommend
