I don’t know. I guess it’s a “great†place but in my personal opinion it’s very overrated.
There was construction work going on for 3 full days, which made the common areas very annoying to be in - no information up front regarding this.
-The restaurant is great but the prices are not for backpackers on a budget.
-The vibe was very weird, if you ask me, almost like you don’t know how’s actually in charge of the hostel :D
-The dorms are okay, but there’s no lockers to store your bag

Los Amigos is a beautiful place, however it’s very busy and the food is overpriced. It’s not a place to experience what Guatemala is like and felt very catered to tourists with a bit more money. But if you want a party and you’re slightly younger (I am 30 and felt the crowd was more like 18-25) it’s for you.

I had an okay experience until the last night I stayed at the property. I was placed in dorm 2, which I do not suggest as it’s super loud and next to the entrance. My bed also got messed up and it was a nightmare. I had bad sleep on my last night that I had to book a hotel room to recover the next night.
