La Mogi

The website says that you can pay with card here but we were’nt allowed even though we asked upon arrival as the first thing. The staff said that we should pay with cash, so we pay with our last cash, and thought we would get some more in an atm. Afterwords we try 5 different atm’s and none of them work (didn’t work for other people either). As we don’t have any cash left because of the hostel we go back and ask if we please can have our cash back and pay with card, as the website says that we can. But the staff says that this is not possible. So they lied to us about card payment and made us live on and island - where you can only pay with cash almost everywhere - just because they would rather like cash payments to card payments. The only way we could pay for transport to a prebooked snorkeling trip was because a very sweet restaurant owner helped us. Took A LOT of discussions with the hostel to get them to understand our situation and they still didn’t. Not a very pleasant stay because of this. The room was fine and it was Nice with a pool. The location however is not very good either, there is a Long Way to the places with restaurants and things happening. Nearest beach (Kutampi) is not very good. All in all not a very pleasant stay, and we wouldn’t recommend it for others.

Double room was fine (if you are okay with bathroom that is open to the elements/insects), but what let this property down was the incompetence of the staff. Upon arrival I was asked to pay circa 470k despite the total booking being 310k and having already paid a deposit. It took around 15 minutes for this to straightened out. Lovely hotel! Private rooms are spacious and the pool it’s lovely. The area is not the best as not much going on so you would have to rent a bike to get to everything. The staff are very helpful and sorted us a bike for the entire stay.
