Selina Palomino

A disappointing stay unfortunately. The dorm I booked was not the one pictured, it was in much worse condition. Keys weren’t provided which meant anyone could walk in at any point (the hostel isn’t contained so when I say anyone, I mean anyone off the street). The water coming out of the taps was yellow and smelt awful, ditto the showers. Staff polite but indifferent, atmosphere wasn’t particularly social. Not aligned with great experiences at other Selinas unfortunately, and very overpriced.

The worst place to stay in Palomino. This is not like any other Selina I've ever stayed at, this is an old beach hotel that's been loosely renovated with a light Selina influence. The food and coffee is really terrible and overpriced, the drinks were either watery and flavourless or way too strong. The rooms were old and musty with poorly maintained, 50-year old installations. They shrank our clothes, even though we asked 3 times that they be washed and dried on cool settings.

The hostel can use a huge makeover. Paint on the wall is coming off, rooms are humid with causes mold on the walls, beds are old and rusty. Power outage every night, therefore aircon wouldn’t work and made the room unbearable to sleep in. One night we wanted to eat at the hostel but they closed the kitchen cause they wanted to save energy, which is understandable, but they also didn’t offer anything that didn’t need heating. We couldn’t leave the hostel since it was raining really hard.
