Popis hostelu
The historic center of Palermo is so extensive as to be considered one of the largest in Europe. The magical views, doorways, palaces, churches, and mosaics are generally well preserved and tell a unique story of thousands of its 2700 year old history. The city shows the layers of continuous populations from different cultures and traditions (Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Normans, Swabians, Angevins, Aragonese, etc..). Located just of Via Maqueda is our street Via Del bosco.
Double H really is unique, we are travelers too, and we know and appreciate the feeling of being welcomed in a kind and professional way.
Rambling adventures await, exploring all the cobbled back streets and hidden gems navigating is easy from our location. Returning each day to Via Maqueda with its many attractions including Piazza Pretoria and Quantro Canti come share an evening meal with us provided by top local chefs to rejuvinate before hitting the nightlife of Palermo.

Just like Palermo city itself, the hostel is very dirty throughout. The kitchen and bathroom has not been thoroughly cleaned for ages, very disgusting. Kitchen is not functioning as it should and trash is not sorted. The mattress is wet all the time, and there is no ventilation in the bathroom. The bedroom door has no lock. Even though there are some nice people working and living there, the sheer tragedy of poor management of this hostel does not justify a revisit.

Lovely hostel, reception guys are amazing dudes. Location is perfect and it’s generally clean and safe, best hostel beds I’ve experienced for privacy, lights & charging point (a few of them didn’t work so will need fixed).
A lick of paint around the place, some minor general maintenance and a shower & kitchen deep clean would have this place well up to 5 stars for me.
I can understand the hot tub being switched off for costs of electricity.
It’s worth the money.
Side note, people in the hostel who are NOT staying there make backpackers feel uncomfortable and a little uneasy/unsafe, get rid of them.
Also put a larger sign outside, I walked past 3 times before noticing it.
