Fresh food market (Mercado 9 Oct) across the street and a short walk to the main plaza of Ceunca.

5 course vegetarian family style group dinner, all freshly made without cans or microwave, available to hostel guest and other traveller

In the middle of the heart of Cuenca, El Cafecito offers a homelike hostel experience with comfortable beds and a very nice roof top terrace with excellent views over the city. The host Tony is the best manager you can hope for, with plenty of knowledge about the town itself but also a chilled out attitude and native english to help travellers feel comfortable. The dorm was spacious enough with an en suite bathroom. There were no curtains on beds and power outlets were sparse, but I liked it.

Would highly recommend. Tony was a very hospitable and knowledgeable host. The top floor with a community kitchen and bar also looked over the city and was an amazing place to get to know the friendly people that were staying there.

I loved my stay here! Tony, the host, is a wonderful person full of stories and any advice you need about Cuenca or Ecuador. The rooms are charming and clean and the location is perfect. I loved the social vibe on the rooftop terrace. Will definitely stay here again if I return to Cuenca.
