Interesting vibe - high ratio of farm volunteers who didn’t seem to have much to do with the paying guests. The pizza night was a highlight as was the giant toad in our ground floor room (we called him Dave) and the nesting pigeon in our eaves. Our cabin was pretty isolated - but a few lights facing out or up seemed to be left on all night shining up into our cabin. Good food in the restaurant.

Good base for the town. Like everywhere else they offer tours, we did cerro negro and las Penitas. Okay breakfast for $1. Coffee kept on running out. The beds are comfy, fans are supplied. The cat is a trickster - watch out for her. Leon is weird as people seem to arrive at 1-2am and leave at similarly weird times so you go to bed with or without a door mate and wake up in reverse.
Thank you for your review! Yes, here in Leon a lot of people take shuttles to or from El Salvador / Nicaragua. They all leave or arrive at night, every morning a surprise :-) We will make sure there is more coffee in the morning, thanks for letting us know! And about the cat.. we moved her to our house, since she is pregnant! Have a god trip and we hope to meet you again one day!

This place is fantastic - one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. The place is a warren of social spaces, kitchens, a pool, roof top terrace, and really cosy, comfy rooms with great showers. Carlos and the team are just brilliant - really friendly welcome. They also run transfers to restaurants, buses, ATMs, as well as tours to Volcán Santa Ana and Salto de Malacatiupan. Highly recommended!
this review is very important for us, we appreciate it. thanks B&W. casa verde team :)

What a great hostel. It’s right next to the jetty from Pana, is super chill whilst also social. We stayed in an 8 bed dorm which was dark and quiet - the only issue is that the dogs came in and ransacked our food bag - worth keeping in fully closed and not letting the door swing closed. Worth walking up to the CECAP workshop for lunch or a drink. Please give Chicago the cat a cuddle from us!

We stayed here for four nights - two nights first off to explore Antigua and then back for two more nights to do Acatenango. Both our dorms had comfy beds, clean bathroom and good lockers for our stuff. Pancakes for breakfast are included and cheap drinks at the bar. The Balam Tours Acatenango trip we took through the hostel was great. Our guide, Jonny Santiago, was very good and all the required equipment included. The cats are cute.

Great hostel - wonderful place to use as a base for Semuc Champey. We spent three nights here so we got to see different vibes. The food is great, the staff friendly, WiFi is kept away from the main communal areas. Bit of a trek to get there but so worth it. We did the Semuc tour which was ace. Worth staying more than one full day.

Good location, nice staff, quiet room, chilled atmosphere. Comfy bed although a little plastic. Food is ok.

Loved this uncomplicated and welcoming hostel! We were just passing through from Toronto to Columbus for one night and they very kindly gave us a private room as it was quiet. Our room was quiet, there was a decent kitchen (although we didn't use it), and very comfy couches in the common room. Great area too.

Great location, near the centre but just a step away so it's really quiet. We stayed in a private room with ensuite. Quiet room just off the main reception with lots of space and comfy beds. The duvets were a little lumpy but warm. Good facilities although the kitchen had only one fairly flat bowl so we had to eat porridge from plates. It was really helpful having the airport pickup when we left.

What a fab hostel! Really quirky with all of the original school furniture and antique pieces. Our private room was comfy and snug against the horrible weather. Bathrooms were a very short walk down the hall and guest seemed pretty keen to keep the library-esque silence in the area of the rooms. Handy kitchen and great communal spaces in the basement. We had pizzas - tasty and reasonable prices for Iceland. Chilling out in the reading area after our trip to Fontana was a highlight!

The owners were lovely, the breakfast (Y400) was delicious and our room was very cosy; a mix of traditional Japanese and modern hostel style. There were a few rules around use of the showers and noise in the common areas so if you're looking for a hostel for a rowdy stay, this isn't the one for you.

Good hostel in a convenient location to a JR line. 5 mins walk from the Sumo arena and only 35-40 mins from Shibuya and Shinjuku areas at the other side of the city. Didn't sleep much because it was a little noisy and our dorms mates weren't too keen on turning the light off. If you close up the bed to shut out the noise and light it gets quite hot.
Thank you very much for staying with us. We appreciate your feedback. We are sorry about the noise problem. If you feel any inconvenience with behaviors of other guests during the night, our night staff will be there to sort out the problem. Please feel free to talk to them. We hope you enjoyed your stay in the other parts. We look forward to seeing you next time. Thank you very much again.

We stayed here in a mixed dorm on the first night and then moved to a double room for two night. Both were absolutely fine, The room terrace seemed quite fun but we didn't really use it much. The Moo bar nearby is worth a visit, it's just a flat which has been converted but has really cheap drinks and a random mix of clientèle.
Thank you for staying wth us:D The Moo is pretty nice bar and we also have many good and reasonable restaurants nearby! You can try next time:D It was nice to see you, thank you!
